Jeremy Stevens: South-South Cooperation should be Laid Emphasis on
Beijing- The global financial crisis has generated a comprehensive impact on the BRIC countries. In response to the financial crisis, the BRIC countries have adopted a package of policy measures. If the international financial crisis is coming again, how do the BRICS countries jointly prevent it or deal with it?
Jeremy Stevens, an economist at South Africa’s Standard Bank in Beijing, spoke on the BRICS Economic Think Tank Forum,“we need to look at the status quo, and find new ways to deal with the relationship between the BRICS countries so as to promote their sustainable development.”
New approaches should be find out to further realize in-depth cooperation within the BRICS, and South-South cooperation should be laid emphasis on, while no more blame to the Bretton Woods System, said Jeremy.
